Old Friends

The Chinese New Year in this year was much more different than before. There was a gathering that helped me to get back a lot of my old friends who were lost contact for a long time ago. Actually, after I graduated from secondary school, I always think of getting back all of the old friends in my hometown, Seremban, during the holiday. But I was shy and lazy, so I only had the idea but did not have the action to find the friends in Seremban. Therefore, every time I went back to Seremban, I just stayed at home except following my family to go out or having meal outside.

One night, my parents and I went to a CD shop to buy some dramas. When I stepped into the shop, I discovered that the guy who was sitting inside was one of my primary school classmates. Then we had the conversation. He told me that there was a primary school gathering on the third day of Chinese lunar new year ( 年初三 ) but he did not know the gathering location and the actual time. He asked for my handphone number and said that he would tell me the detail once he confirmed with other.

Finally the gathering day was coming, that guy still not yet contact with me. I felt very regret with my careless mistake, that is, I forgot to get his contact number. I tried to phone the other classmate in primary school. Someone told me the gathering time and place. On the evening, I drove to the place with the excited feeling. I did not see my primary school friends for around 10 years since the primary school graduation. It was so wonderful that I could meet back them. That night, we had a buffet dinner. After that, we went to visit other friends who did not join our gathering.

They planned to go someone's house to sing karaoke. My house was full of my relatives, it was hard to ask them joining in to play together. So we went to the Pekky Chew's house ( Pekky was the organizer for this gathering. ) since her house also have the karaoke system. All of her family were not at home, so we could play crazily to have enough fun. By the lot of practices in singing using my home karaoke system, my singing skill was getting their praise. The time was passed very fast during our entertainment such as singing karaoke and playing cards. Pekky took out the primary school magazine, so we had a chance to talk about the past while looking on those pictures.

We did not see each other for so many years, there must be a lot of questions in the mind we wanted to ask each other. So, we decided to find a place to sit down, drink tea and continue chatting to know more about each other. After a few hours, we dismissed and went home severally.
