Team Spirit

After playing 2 different sports for continuous 2 days, one was playing basketball in midnight for 2 and a half hours, and another one was playing badminton in evening for 2 hours on the next day, I was very tired and felt the pain on some parts of my body and bone. Due to the tiredness, I thought that I could be easy to fall asleep. But, when I lay on my bed, I spent around half an hour to successfully go into dream.

I love playing basketball. Basketball is a team game, the spirit of teamwork is very important while playing. Every player who joins the game should know what is the role of each player, who is shooter and who is supporter. Actually this is not very important, everyone also can try to shoot the ball if there is a chance for the person. But the shooter needs to see whether there is a teammate under the basket to do the "Rebound". If the ball fails to go into the basket and rebound out, the teammate can immediately take back the ball rather than giving a chance for the opponents to grab the ball if no backup. When the ball carrier is blocked by the opponents and he is unable to move through them or shoot the ball, he should pass the ball to others. If he forcibly to go through the defense or take the risk to shoot the ball, the ball will be easy to drop on the opponents' hand.

No matter how strong a player is, the act of playing as "One Man Show" is prohibitive and will be hated by the teammates. Everyone in a team have to train the privity between each other to prevent the opponents from knowing the playing strategy on tournament. One person is impossible to complete all the tasks including carrying the ball, running the whole court and shooting the ball over the defense of the opponents. It is very tired and hard to successfully throw the ball into the basket and get the score. Someone may think that if cannot get any score for the team, others will not pay more attention on the person. In the view of spectators, the player who gets the most score in a tournament is the strongest in the team. The player who only does the support and never get a score will be considered as no contribution in the team?! Who say that? In the reality, anyone who looks only the surface of a case will have such theory. Because of this reason, someone who cares for the thinking of others will be selfish and wants to get the score as much as possible by self. The person thought that passing the ball to the teammates means losing a good chance to get score and giving a chance for others. He worries that cannot get a satisfactory result in the personal scoring to show off himself.

In the most popular game, Defense of the Ancient (DotA), playing as a team is compulsory. All the DotA heroes have the limit power. One hero is impossible to beat down 5 heroes in a battle unless the opponents are too weak. So, all of the players must gather and fight together in a battle to make the winning possibility to the maximum point. When your hero is attacked by the enemies, your teammates may come to rescue you at this moment and prevent them from killing you or kill them back. This scene is so touching. You will know the importance of the team spirit. Some noobs (newbie) are very damned, they always say "Ks! Ks!" (Kill Stealing). What is Kill Stealing? Kill Stealing is the act of keeping a damaging spell for killing the enemy hero on the last hit to death in order to get the rewards. There are many stupid players (noob) thought that the teammates come to support in order to steal their "food". A noob is chasing an enemy hero, his teammate come to help and kill, he kept saying the teammate purposely killsteal his "food". Although the noob can kill the enemy hero by himself, should the teammate stand beside and watch only? Those noobs do not know how to play DotA at all, they just know playing solo style and getting the highest score of killing in game. They should go to play the DotA with AI (Artifact Intelligence) that does not require much cooperation with team.

Team game is very enjoyable especially playing with friends. I can enjoy the communication and cooperation with my friends during the game. Sharing a triumph together with friends is quite a happy matter. Anyway, fellowship is more important than winning a game, so we should enjoy the process while we are playing together.

Love

One day, my housemates and I finished our dinner and arrived at home. I just sat down on my chair for a few seconds, the doorbell was rung by someone outside. On my thought, it must be the delivery that usually ordered by my roommate. He normally backed late from his work and did not join us for dinner. When I went to open the wooden door and looked outside. A girl and a boy who seemed same age as me was standing outside and having a smile on their face.

My curiosity was quite heavy so I asked them about their purpose for coming. They told me that they wanted to do a survey for their Christian society in campus. Their current topic was talking about "Love". They would like to know that how people defined "Love". Somehow, I was so enthusiastic to help them in answering their questions on the survey paper. May be because I am a Christian, so I felt close to them and had the heart to help them.

They asked me what was "Love" in my opinion. My answer was very general, "Love" was an action to concern others, or pay more attention on others, think from the position of others, know the needs for others, and help others to solve problems. There was an interesting question, they asked me what was the difference between "Like" and "Love". I knew these 2 words must be bringing different meaning because they gave me the different feeling, but I failed to differentiate them. I told the girl and the boy that I gave up to answer this question and hoped to get the answer from them. Their answer awoke me. It was just the answer in my feeling but I did not know how to explain it.

"Like" is temporary, you "like" someone in the first seeing because the person attracts you, you just have the good feeling at the person due to figure, talent, or any other aspect that was able to magnetize you. "Love" is long or permanent, you "love" someone, you will know how to care for the person, you will put the person on the first place in your heart and do a lot of matters to show your concern for the person. No wonder many people say that "Love" is blind and "Love" cannot be measured. It is hard to tell a reason to "love" someone. Only the "Love" without reason can be permanent. Why? Because if there is a reason in "Love", that means there is a condition in "Love". If the condition cannot be achieved, then the "Love" ends. If you love a person because of his or her figure, and one day your beloved becomes old and ugly, will you still love him or her? If you love a person because of his or her talent, and one day your beloved loses his or her skill caused by any accident, will you still love him or her? If you really love a person, you will not think so much about him or her. This is called as "True Love".

When I was young, I was as cold as a stone. I did not know what was "Love". I did not care anything happened around me. I did not show my concern to the people beside me. Everyday, after I came back from school and had my lunch, I hid in my room to do my own thing and isolated myself from outside of my room. Normally I did not know the actual location of my parents. When someone came to find them and asked where were them, I could simply answer,"I don't know." since I had really no idea about that. When whole family sat down together for eating meal or watching television, I did not pay much attention on their conversation and just kept quiet. My mother always scold me that I looked like not the one member in my family. I was indeed a problematic children or teenager on that time.

What will happen if there is a lack of "Love" in this world or society? All people will not give a hand for anyone who is in difficulty. All people are busy with their own business and do not care other matters. We will hard to hear the laugh and feel the happiness in a society. If this really happens, what is the meaning in life? So, do not be closefisted to share your "Love" with others and make your life to be wonderful. Hope that everyone can be happy on everyday!

Expression and Communication

Yesterday, I heard from my lecturer talking about communication skill in class. She said that a lot of students do not know how to present something that they are expert in. The students have the skills and their own idea but they do not know how to sell themselves in order to get the attention from other people. They know how to make a product, but they have no idea to sell the product. This is a big obstacle on the way to make a successful business.

In this 21^st century, communication skill cannot be ignored. It is very important for anyone who wants to live in this society. Good communication skill can easily make your audiences clear with your idea. Poor communication skill can easily confuse your audiences as well as yourself and make them bored to continue listening. If the audiences are patient to hear your idea, you may have the chance to express slowly. Good communication skill needs a lot of practices in speaking to others, listening from a good speaker to learn the expression ways, and learning more vocabularies to make your speech to be easier.

What are the factors to cause a person presents something hardly?

(1) First factor can be shyness. Shy to communicate with others especially standing in front of many people and getting their sight attack. It will make you in tension, causing your thinking to be void and then you do not know what to say.

(2) Second factor should be language problem. Language of course has a great influence in communication. When you want to talk something to a foreigner or someone who only know the language which is not your special language, you may have the difficulty to translate from a sentence with familiar language to another sentence with unfamiliar language. Lack of vocabulary or not good in grammar can really make you unable to say out what you want to present on your mind.

(3) Third factor may be professional problem. A person talks about something that he is not well-known about it. He has just a little knowledge about it but he wants to present to others. So, he may talk many nonsenses for the part which he does not confirm yet. After a lot of bullshits, he may confuse himself and hard to continue or easy to make a mistake. Talking nonsense sounds not professional and easily exposed by others when they find out there was a conflict between these points. Saying a well-known topic surely easier to communicate with others comparing with talking nonsense.

There are many methods to present an idea. If using vocal is not enough to clearly express your idea, you can use the body language or sketch it on a paper while you are talking in order to make your presentation to be clearer. No matter using what methods, the most important thing is to make your audiences clear with your idea or your selling point. It can be considered that you have the good communication skill with others.

Experience of Losing Direction

I have a lot of experience in losing the way to a destination because I have the problem on memorizing the road path. Due to this problem, I normally follow the signboard in order to go to a place. But some signboards are unbelievable, it cheats and leads me to a strange place. But somehow, may be I am too clever, I always have the idea to get the way out of the strangeness and finally I can reach to the destination.

I remember the first time I get lost was happening in Melaka. I took my friend by car from the place near Multimedia University (MMU) Melaka to the Melaka Sentral transportation terminal. When I went back alone, I totally forgot the way to home. I was not willing to call my friend for help and wanted to have a try. I looked at the signboard but none of the place names I was familiar with. Then, I randomly chose one direction and continue my journey. During the car driving, I visits a lot of places, but I could not get the correct way to get home. Some places I might visit twice and three times. After having enough fun, I finally gave up and searched for help from my friend through phone calling. He gave me a simple answer that was following the signboard to the South-North highway because going on the path to the highway would pass by MMU. This answer had awaken me from the maze. Thanks to his instruction, I finally get the familiar place and successfully reached to home.

There were a lot of cases, but I am lazy to write out all. I mention one of these cases that was most interesting. This case happened on the day I worked for my part-time job. In the evening, my friend suddenly phoned me and asked me to watch movie at 9 p.m. in One Utama. I accepted the offer. I rushed for my company project and hoped to complete it before 7.30 p.m.. But my leader had many requests on the project, I changed and added features and solved the program bugs. Finally I fulfilled all the requests, but the time was already 8.15 p.m.. Then, I cleaned up my thing and left the office. One Utama was located at Petaling Jaya. As normal, I followed the signboard to the place. Around 8.45 p.m., I saw the One Utama buildings. I did not know how to differentiate the New Wing and Old Wing. I casually turned in an entrance and went to the car park inside building.

My friend's chasing call was making me to be more excited. I told him that I was searching for parking. There were a lot of cars making the car parking slot full on every floor. I drove my car up one floor by one floor. Somehow I reached the exit, I did not want to go out and I had not yet pay for the parking ticket too. Actually, on the moment, I did not know whether I was at the correct building. I simply found a parking slot to park my car. Then, I remember that the cinema should be at the top floor. Then, I found an elevator to bring me to the top floor. After I reached to the top floor, I had no idea with the place. Thus, I would like to ask my friend for giving me a direction. But, I left my hand phone in the car! I tried to walk around the place but I failed to see the cinema. Suddenly, I saw there were some words of "Golden Screen Cinema" (GSC) on the opposite building. Damn it! I went back to get my car and paid for nothing to exit the car park.

The movie was started, my friend asked me to give him a miss call when arrived at the cinema. I did not know how to go to the building I saw on the opposite side. I drove around the building. Suddenly, I discovered that I passed by the One Utama region when I saw there was no more One Utama building on my left hand side and I was going straight on the road to Damansara. I wanted to U-turn back to One Utama but there was no U-turn for me. I started to be anxious and lost the direction. Then, I saw there was an entrance on the left hand side. I did not know whether it was a right way but I turned into the entrance without thinking. Thanks to god blessing, I came back to One Utama region. But, I still have no idea on how to get the building with GCS cinema. The region of One Utama was huge enough to confuse me. I could not see the words of GSC on any building while I was driving. I was tired of driving without any direction. I parked my car at the outdoor parking ground and went to ask the guards for help. Finally, I reached to the cinema but I missed the front part of movie. What a terrible experience!

Driving alone to an unfamiliar place is very exciting but I do not hope to have the next experience of losing direction because I will not be lucky on every time.

Black and White

Written contract is very important to prevent any party in the agreement to break the promise. Any written contract which has the signature of all participating parties contains the power of law and can be used to sue the party who breaks the contract. A contract is used to protect one's benefit. Without a contract, one's benefit can be threaten if someday the offeror do not comply his or her promise and give the reward.

Long time ago, one of my friends got the offer from a lecturer in campus to be a research officer. My friend started to work on October 2008 and had been promised with the salary of RM 2800 per month including Employees Provident Fund (EPF) as well as free master courses. The lecturer did not provide the offer letter for my friend and there was no any black-and-white contract between them, so they only had the oral agreement. After my friend had worked for 4 months, he did not get any payment. He asked the lecturer for the payment, the lecturer said that the financial department had not yet approve the research fund for him. After the fund was approved, the lecturer told my friend that his post of research officer had not yet been approved by Human Resource (HR) department, thus he could not get the salary. Finally the lecturer gave my friend an offer letter that approved him as a true research officer but the salary reduced to RM 2300 per month including EPF and the payment started from December 2008. My friend could not argue with the HR department because he did not sign any contract to prove his statements. As a result, my friend lost his 2-months salary and the monthly salary was greatly lower than the amount promised before by the lecturer. Regarding to this case, the contract plays a very important role in protecting one's benefit.

Last time during my holiday, I stayed in Cyberjaya in order to do part-time in a Panasonic company. I joined the company due to hearing from my friend that there was a high payment for a part-timer, it was RM 100 per day. Unfortunately, the company did not want to hire any part-timer during the moment I went to interview for the job. They suggested me to join as an intern with a low allowance like those students who were having their industrial training in the company. The allowance was only RM 550 per month. Of course I was not satisfactory with the payment because I was not doing my industrial training since I had done it before. After the interview, I told them that I wanted to thought over it for a few days. I found out that other companies in Cyberjaya did not hire part-timer too. I was compulsory to stay in Cyberjaya because my rental must be paid for every month and I had a long holiday. Actually I planned to temporarily do the part-time job and searched for other job, so I phoned to the Human Resource (HR) department in order to inform them that I accepted the job. She asked me to come to the office in order to sign a contract. The contract bounded me for 3 months to be a part-time employee in the company. I could not simply run away within the contract period.

I told my case to my relative, he told me that it was not necessary to sign any contract to be a part-timer so that could run away if unhappy with the job. I was not sure whether it was a right action. The contract was used to protect both of my benefit and the company's benefit. The company could not allow me to run away from my job anytime while I was doing their projects. Besides, I surely had the certain amount of payment for every month. After a month, they raised my payment to RM 1000 per month due to my good performance. It was out of my expectation. I had to sign a new contract in order to prove the payment and for future argument. After my 3-months contract ended, they told me that there was a new part-time principle and would pay me RM 9 per hour depending on my working hours. I accepted the offer and continued my job until my holiday ended.

In conclusion, a contract is important for any deal and either an employer or employee. Without a contract, the wicked employer can choose not to pay for you since you have nothing to prove and cannot sue him too. To protect your benefit, a contract must be signed before you work for your employer.

Good to People, Cruel to Self

Few days before, I watched a movie named "The World Without Thieves" that was talking about the fight between 2 groups of thieves in order to steal a bag of money from a naive boy who was easy to believe anyone in a train. One group of thieves was couple. After they successfully got the money and left the train, they quarrelled about the stealing from a naive boy. The man said that he was helping the naive boy to learn about self-protection and not easy to believe a stranger because it could be very dangerous. After that, the man was persuaded by the woman after she said that she was pregnant and did not want to be thief anymore in order to gain more blessing. The woman gave back the money to the naive boy. But there was another group of thieves who wanted to steal the bag of money in the train. So, the couple went back into the train and changed their identities from thieves to be bodyguards in order to protect the naive boy against another group of thieves until the boy reached his destination.

I have a friend, who is very good in treating her friend. She is friendly and naive. She also have the high emotional quotient (EQ) due to my other friends always said never see her to be angry. Because of her friendliness, she has a lot of friends until can meet her friends anywhere. But some of her friends actually try to gain benefit from her. There was a case I heard from my friend, her housemate frequently took her car key and drove her car to somewhere without telling her or getting the permission from her. When she wanted to use car then only she found out that her car key was missing. Besides, her housemate could freely use her Touch-and-Go card on her car to pay for any toll and they did not pay back the petrol fee for her. It is so damned. If I meet such persons, I surely scold them rudely without giving face. If allow them to do the first time, they must have the next time. Since they do not know to respect, so it is not necessary to treat them good and allow them to continue gaining benefit.

Yesterday night, when I was having my dinner at home, a friend suddenly requested me to take him back to his original home due to a very urgent matter because he did not have car. His home was around-half-an-hour far from my condominium through highway. He promised to pay me the toll for come-and-go as well as the petrol fee. He was not willing to tell me what was the matter so I did not continue asking and force him to say. Because of the matter seemed to be very urgent for him, I agreed to take him home. After I finished eating, I asked my housemates to accompany me and they are happy to follow. He complied his promise to give me money for paying the toll. After I drove to his house, he put down an amount of money as the petrol fee and appreciate me then he quickly ran towards his house. I was happy to help him since he did not try to get any benefit from me. I also hope to get someone's help if I encounter any problem in the future. People respect me, I will respect him or her. People treat me good, I will treat back him or her good. This is the meaning of being friend.

Get Rid Of Loneliness In Seremban Life

Due to no friends in my hometown, Seremban, my holiday became so bored. The activities for everyday include eating, sleeping, watching television drama or movie, playing computer, and living as a homeboy ( 宅男 ) during the whole holiday. As time passed, I was nearly going to be moldy at home.

Since I met back my primary school friends, my life in Seremban, was started to be more wonderful and meaningful. Whenever they have any activities, they will remember to inform me, I am very touching with this. I admit that I am a passive person, I will not organize any activity to invite all of my friends because of my laziness. If there is no one invite me to go out, normally I will lazy to go out. I am waiting my friends to tell me what is the meaning of life. If someone invites me, I seldom reject the invitation unless I feel that it is too bored for me. Actually I love jollification, I like to have any activity with many people especially my friends although I may give the bored impression for them. I have the weakness in conversation with other, sometime I totally have nothing to say while people are talking a lot with each other. I have no intention to show my coldness, apologizing for my friends if I make them bored.

I am actually a hyperactive guy, sometime may not, depending on my mood. I am interested in many activities as long as they can give me to have fun and new experience. I am very excited to try new thing as I never experience before. If I know it is not suit to me, of course it is no next time. It is unable to get happiness by reluctance. I like to play many kinds of sport, but the only problem is lack of players. One of my primary school friends, Ah Yih, is very active in sports, sometime he will invite me to play basketball or badminton with either his friends or my primary school friends together. So now I do not need to worry no chance to do more exercises. If ask me to go out just for shopping only, I may need to think whether I have something to buy. I do not like shopping if I have nothing to buy, it is just like walking and looking around without any purpose. But going to visit a new place has the chance to attract me.

I do not like to stay at home too much because I know it will make me to be more lazy and sleepy. Therefore, the invitation of anyone normally has the impetus to encourage me to accept and go out. I hate loneliness, I want to get rid of it.
